500 Days Without Red Velvet: What Are Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, & Yeri Up To?

As of writing this article, SM Entertainment's Red Velvet has gone beyond 500 days without dropping a comeback. Red Velvet's "Psycho", being their last group release, became an instant hit in 2020. 

Now that Red Velvet's Wendy has finally returned, the Red Velvet members have been alluding to a coming comeback. Here's what Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, & Yeri have been doing + latest updates.

Red Velvet's Irene had an explosive 2020. In July of 2020, Irene made her debut as a part of Red Velvet's first subunit: Red Velvet - Irene & Seulgi with their mini-album entitled "Monster".

Following Red Velvet's sub-unit debut, Red Velvet's Irene made her film debut as a lead actress in the film "Double Patty". Irene's "Double Patty" made its way in cinemas in February of 2021.

Moreover, Red Velvet's Irene was dubbed to be an ambassador for Clinique, a cosmetic brand, and Prada, a luxury fashion brand.

As mentioned above, Seulgi and Irene debuted as Red Velvet's first sub-unit with their mini-album, "Monster." The album featured Seulgi's solo song "Uncover" from Red Velvet's concert, La Rouge.

Previously in November of 2020, Red Velvet's Seulgi became an author when Seulgi translated the book series entitled "Art Gallery by My Side: Love, Happiness, Sleep" by Shana Gozansky of South Korea. Red Velvet's Seulgi even gave her personal commentary on the books. 

Moreover, Red Velvet's Seulgi became Coca-Cola's 2020 Korean campaign's face and was confirmed to be an ambassador for L'Occitane, a luxury cosmetic line. In 2021, Red Velvet's Seulgi also became a part of Volkswagen and ambassadors for both Salvatore Ferragamo and AMUSE.

In addition, Red Velvet's Seulgi started hosting the latest web music series, "The Wise Music Encyclopedia."

Unfortunately, Red Velvet's Wendy had an accident back in 2019, which caused her to take a hiatus to recover. Fortunately, the Red Velvet vocalist has recovered and returned on stage.

Red Velvet's Wendy lent her voice in April 2020 for the South Korean dub for the main character of "Trolls: World Tour." After which, Wendy released multiple OSTs. In the first month of 2021, Red Velvet's Wendy then made her return on TV as a co-host on "Mysterious Record Shop."

Red Velvet's Wendy also became a brand ambassador for POND'S, but most notably, Red Velvet's Wendy made her solo debut with her album "Like Water," which included two title tracks, "Like Water" and "When This Rain Stops".

Red Velvet's Joy dropped "Introduce Me a Good Person" for the K-Drama "Hospital Playlist" in 2020. Red Velvet's Joy was also featured on Crush's song, "Mayday." Red Velvet's Joy "Why Isn't Love Always Easy?" for the webtoon, "Romance 101."

Red Velvet's Joy also signed on to brands such as Aveda and luxury brand Hogan in 2020 and 2021, respectively. Recent reports point toward Red Velvet's Joy possibly returning on K-Drama's after she was given the option to play the lead actress role on "Only One Person."

Red Velvet's maknae, Yeri

Red Velvet's Yeri had an amazing 2020, first launching her personal lipstick collection with Notre Colette in the first month of 2020. Following that, AprilSkin dubbed Red Velvet's Yeri to be their latest exclusive brand model in July of 2020.

Following that, Red Velvet's Yeri became a part of "Fever 2020 Cool Summer Project," which saw her release two Cool remakes entitled "Woman on the Beach", with Woong of AB6IX and Ravi of VIXX, and "Sorrow", with Ravi and Wooseok of UP10TION.

Moreover, Red Velvet's Yeri then released her variety show, "Yeri's Room." Unfortunately, the show was canceled after its first season.

During the 2nd month of 2021, Red Velvet's Yeri was cast in an episode of a K-Drama under tvN, "Drama Stage: Mint Condition." Red Velvet's Yeri did such an amazing job; she scored a lead role in "Blue Birthday too", an upcoming web series.

SM Entertainment has previously dropped details on Red Velvet's comeback, and Reveluvs are hoping that one will be out within this year.
