Red Velvet’s Wendy Is Officially Back, To Host New JTBC Show
After a year of hiatus, Red Velvet's Wendy is set to make a comeback to the entertainment industry as the MC of JTBC's new music talk show, "Mysterious Record Shop."
Wendy suffered an injury during a stage rehearsal of a music awards ceremony last year. During the annual SBS Gayo Daejun, Red Velvet's main vocal fell from a platform fracturing her pelvis and wrist as well as injuring her face.
Since the incident, Red Velvet halted their promotions for their last comeback, "Psycho," while Wendy focused on treatment and rest. Moreover, Wendy has been preparing for a return by participating in various OSTs and projects celebrating BoA's 20th year anniversary since her debut.
This upcoming show features a variety of hosts coming from different genres of Korean music, such as ballad, pop, and trot. Joining Wendy as MCs in this new JTBC music talk show is her labelmate, Super Junior's Kyuhyun, Yoon Jon-shin, and Trot Empress Jang Yoon-jung. The show will also be the comeback project of Yoon Jon-shin, who is expected to be the main host of the show.
"Mysterious Record Shop" is the very first collaboration between JTBC and SM C&C Studio. This show will introduce the life stories and life songs of guests who are prominent and working in entertainment, specifically the music industry. From this show, viewers can expect an ensemble that'll highlight not just the colorful Korean music industry but also the rough patches that come along the journey.
The MCs for the "Mysterious Record Shop" are the perfect combination that will bring laughter, emotion, and even fun! Meanwhile, the format of the talk show will be varied, and the guests that will be joining the show will be revealed soon.
The new JTBC show "Mysterious Record Shop" is scheduled to air in January 2021.
