‘Music Bank’ Episode Canceled, ITZY, Taemin, & More K-Pop Performances & Awards Did Not Push Through
This pandemic has been a huge burden to everyone across the globe. From canceling gatherings, vacation plans, travel plans, and the like.
Recently, it seems that the COVID-19 pandemic also decided that it also wanted to cancel an episode of a beloved South Korean music program, KBS's "Music Bank."
"Music Bank" is a popular South Korean music show that broadcasts every Friday at 5 p.m. Korean Standard Time on KBS2. Previously, as of 2015, KBS's "Music Bank" started to be broadcasted internationally, in over a hundred countries via KBS World.
The KBS's "Music Bank" Episodes are being shot at the KBS New Wing Open Hall building in South Korea. Aside from performances from K-pop groups and soloists with their latest releases, "Music Bank" also gives out wins.
Unfortunately, fans were not able to enjoy the scheduled episode of "Music Bank" due to unforeseen circumstances.
The KBS's episode of "Music Bank" that was scheduled to air on the 21st of May was previously canceled when a member of a production team was able to test positive for the COVID-19 virus.
As per reports from SPOTV, KBS's "Music Bank" was hurriedly canceled after a member of the production team was noted to have tested positive for the COVID-19 pandemic.
The "Music Bank" staff member's results were confirmed on the afternoon of the 20th of May, just a day before the airing of the "Music Bank" episode.
Recently, health authorities are trying to retrace the individuals contacted by the member of the production team. For safety reasons, the live broadcast for KBS's "Music Bank" has been canceled and will not push through.
In a twist of fate, pre-recordings of KBS's "Music Bank" were not yet done when the test results came back positive. Thus, ITZY, SHAX, and Taemin, the K-pop idols that were supposedly performing on the episode, were not in contact with the production team members.
