In a previous interview with ESQUIRE Korea, Kwon Eunbi announced that her top bucket list item for this year was to drop a solo album. At the time, Kwon Eunbi was pulling some strings to make her dream a reality.
Directly, to the delight of her fans, Kwon Eunbi proudly announced to ESQUIRE Korea, "I am currently preparing [for her solo debut]."
Notably, she was the former leader of IZ*ONE and was a participant in "Produce 48."
Most female participants of Mnet's Produce series usually go on to debut in K-pop girl groups and making solo debuts is quite rare. Prior to her 2018 debut with IZ*ONE, Kwon Eunbi was already part of the K-pop group Ye-A from 2014 up until 2015.
Thus, Kwon Eunbi's solo debut became set in stone as a release date was previously dropped regarding the former IZ*ONE member's solo debut!
On the 5th of August, Korean media outlets went on to report that Kwon Eun Bi is currently taking part in photoshoots and even began filming her music video prior to dropping her first solo album which will be at the end of August.
Moreover, an insider from Woollim Entertainment released an announcement stating that Kwon Eun Bi is currently hard at work on making the final touches on her solo album that is slated to be released at the end of this month.
Now, after making her fans wait for a while, Kwon Eunbi has finally made her highly-anticipated solo debut!
As of writing this article, yesterday on the 24th of August, Kwon Eunbi, the former IZ*ONE leader dropped her first solo mini-album entitled "OPEN" along with the music video for the title track, "Door."
Kwon Eunbi's title track was composed by Hwang Hyun and Jung Ho Hyun, but Kwon Eunbi helped in writing the lyrics. As of writing this article, the MV for the title track has already reached 895,710 views and 94k likes!
