As of writing this article on the 15th of April, South Korean entertainment agency, CUBE Entertainment, shared a video containing a logo animation alongside an image revealing the name of their latest K-pop girl group debuting this year on their official Twitter account.

From video and photo conveying the logo, CUBE Entertainment revealed that they would be debuting the new female K-pop girl under the name "LIGHTSUM."

The logo video begins as a pink box. As it progresses, multiple images and clips flash on the screen. It is assumed that it showed clues on what concept LIGHTSUM will be handling.

The name CUBE Entertainment thought for their upcoming group, LIGHTSUM, comes from two words: light and sum. A summation of light might mean that their whole concept is unity while having bubbly personalities.

It has been confirmed that CUBE Entertainment's LIGHTSUM will be making their debut before July, meaning they will be coming out in the first half of 2021. LIGHTSUM will be the agency's first K-pop girl group since (G)I-DLE, which made their debut three years ago in 2018.

Moreover, the upcoming LIGHTSUM will be the fifth K-pop group under CUBE Entertainment that is active. The four other K-pop groups being BTOB, CLC, PENTAGON, and (G)I-DLE. To add, LIGHTSUM will be the third female K-pop group under the agency that is active.

Overall, however, CUBE Entertainment's LIGHTSUM is the ninth South Korean idol under the company. The other eight being the aforementioned BTOB, CLC, PENTAGON, (G)I-DLE, and WANNA ONE member Lai Kuan-lin, Jang Hyun-seung, Jo Kwon, and Yoo Seon-ho, a singer and actor.

Details such as the number of members have not yet been released. The only details released are the logo of the K-pop girl group. Stay tuned for more information as they might come soon.

Congratulations to CUBE Entertainment!
