IU, BTS, BLACKPINK, Bae Suzy & Other Stars Joins Forbes Korea’s ‘Most Powerful Celebrities’ List

To paraphrase that famous superhero line, with great popularity comes great power. In the entertainment industry, prominent stars tend to garner either a vast following, near-endless wealth, or a combination of both. Specifically, the influence of Korean celebrities (may it be from K-pop, K-dramas, sports, or more) in South Korea at times reaches no bounds.

Forbes Korea is aware of this. Just recently, the magazine has collated data on which South Korean celebrities are the most powerful in the peninsula. Dubbing their list as "Power Celebrity 40," it is Korea's version of "U.S. Forbes Highest-Paid Celebrity 100."

On top of Forbes Korea's celebrity power rankings is HYBE Labels' BTS. The 7-member K-pop boy group had a humble beginning and are now one of the most famous and wealthy artists not just in Korea, but also in the world.



YG Entertainment's BLACKPINK takes second place on Forbes Korea's celebrity power rankings. Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa are not just K-pop artists but are also global brand ambassadors, supermodels, and everything in between.

#3 Son Heung Min


Son Heung Min proves Forbes Korea's celebrity power ranking is diverse, placing 3rd. The Korean athlete is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and captains the South Korea national team. He is also known as one of the greatest Asian footballers of all time.
