Previously in 2021, netizens and fans were shocked as Soojin was embroiled in school violence allegations. Though the K-pop idol and Cube Entertainment denied the allegations, actress Seo Shin Ae went on to come forward and revealed that Soojin had bullied her when they were classmates.
Notably, in August of 2021, Cube Entertainment made an announcement that shocked K-pop fans as their label revealed that Soojin would be leaving (G)I-DLE. Expectedly, Neverlands were not happy with the decision as they believed it seemed rushed and came out of nowhere.
Just recently, Cube Entertainment released the following statement regarding Soojin's contract:
"This is Cube Entertainment.
We are notifying you that the exclusive contract with our agency's artist Soojin has been terminated.
For a long time, our company and Soojin tried to uncover the truth about the controversy raised in February of last year through a police investigation, but the police found that [the accuser(s)] were not guilty (no charges).
We respect the results of the police investigation, and we apologize for causing concern to many people with this incident.
Thank you."
Once again, netizens and fans shared their displeasure as some still had hope that the former (G)I-DLE member would make a miraculous comeback, but the recent announcement from Cube Entertainment dashed all hopes for Soojin's future with (G)I-DLE.
Netizens and fans are wishing Soojin the best as the former (G)I-DLE member is now free to decide what she does next in her career.
