Social media giant Facebook (aka Meta) has fallen 36 places on Glassdoor's annual ranking of the best places to work in the United States. Previously ranked 11th, the social media company now ranks 47th only a year after.

The social media company, which changed its name to Meta in the previous year, has made the list for 12 years now, but this is its lowest ranking in the 100-company ranking. Notably, although changing its name, the company still uses the name 'Facebook' for its social media platform.

Notably, Glassdoor (an American website where current and former employees review companies) stated that employees of Meta mostly had good things to say regarding the social media company. But this does not mean Facebook does not have flaws.

But a lot of Meta employees also brought up negative issues such as being called out publicly, inaction from Facebook heads on issues, and questions about the company's future direction. Thus, explaining the lows of the social media company.

Furthermore, Meta has caught the ire of lawmakers and the public after a previous Facebook employee leaked a myriad of pages of internal data about how certain products affect users of the social media platform.

Although Meta shrugged off the reports, the Facebook company has also taken steps to heed lawmakers' critiques, such as pausing their development on a version of Instagram for but mainly for kids.

To add to this, Facebook's rating on Glassdoor's list came in this year at 4.3 out of 5. Glassdoor's algorithm is based on reviews and ratings left by current and former employees within a one-year period that ended in October of 2021.
