Wanna One Confirmed To Appear On MAMA 2021, Lai Kuan Lin To Miss Reunion Performance
Wanna One will reunite on the stage of Mnet ASIAN MUSIC AWARDS 2021 (MAMA 2021).
On November 15, the team behind MAMA 2021 confirmed the great news saying, "Wanna One will reunite for a special performance at the main MAMA 2021 awards ceremony on December 11."
Of the 11 members, only 10 will be on stage: Kang Daniel, Park Ji Hoon, Lee Dae Hwi, Kim Jae Hwan, Ong Seong Woo, Park Woo Jin, Yoon Ji Sung, Hwang Min Hyeon, Bae Jin Young, and Ha Seong Woon. Former Wanna One member Lai Kuan Lin is reportedly not joining the group's reunion performance.
Wanna One is a K-Pop boy group created through Mnet's idol survival program "Produce 101 Season 2," which aired in 2017. The group debuted in August of that year and continued its activities until January 2019.
Wanna One made a splashing debut with "Energetic" and was even dubbed as "million sellers' with their very successful debut album. During their promotions, they were able to win about 100 trophies in various music programs and awards ceremonies.
Wanna One was loved not only in Korea but also abroad. The group's world tour saw a total of 350,000 people in attendance in 14 cities around the world. Wanna One's upcoming MAMA performance will be the first time in about two years and 11 months since their official disbandment.
MAMA 2021 will be broadcast live on December 11 at 6 PM. The host for the highly-anticipated awards ceremony is singer Lee Hyori. In addition to Wanna One, the cast of Mnet's women's dance crew survival 'Street Woman Fighter' will also perform a special performance.
