BTS has been confirmed to have officially won the "Group of the Year" award in the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards and ARMYs (the fandom name of BTS) are extremely proud!
ARMYs from all over the world show their overwhelming support towards BTS as they once again bagged the highly coveted "Group of the Year" award!
The "Best Group" category, previously dubbed as the "Best Group Video" until 2006, the "Group of the Year" category has been awarded to BTS for the third straight year. BTS is now the only musical group to have reached this highly impressive milestone!
Other nominees aside from BTS were BLACKPINK, Twenty One Pilots, CNCO, Foo Fighters, Jonas Brothers, Maroon 5, and Silk Sonic, all of which are highly talented and magnificent groups in their own right.
Following this, the official Twitter account for the MTV Video Music Awards went on to congratulate BTS on their third straight win in the "Best Group" category.
Aside from the "Best Group" category, BTS is also nominated in 7 other categories. A few of them being "Best K-Pop" and "Song of the Year," for the feats BTS has achieved this year and the success of their tracks, "Butter" and "Dynamite."
Moreover, BTS has gone on to accept their recent award via a short but sweet message:
"Hi, we are BTS! Thank you VMAs for the "Group of the Year" award. And ARMYs, this is all possible thanks to you guys. Though we can't meet in person, we feel your love every minute, every second. We love you and we miss you. Thank you so much!"
