Big Hit Music New Boy Group 2025: Martin, James Lead 5-Member Team Debuting August 18

Big Hit Music has confirmed the August 18, 2025 debut of their first new boy group in six years, ending the wait since Tomorrow X Together launched in 2019.
The five-member group features Martin (Canadian-Korean leader), James (Thai-Chinese from Hong Kong), Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho - all teenagers who've already proven their talents behind the scenes.
Martin, born Martin Edwards Park on March 20, 2008, participated in the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics children's choir. James (birth name Zhao Yufan), born October 14, 2005, is actually the oldest member and a former Trainee A member who worked as a backup dancer for Jung Kook's "Seven" performances.
Unlike traditional K-pop groups with fixed positions, Big Hit calls them a "young creator crew." All five members collaborate on songwriting, choreography, and video production rather than being limited to specific roles.
Both Martin and James have already contributed to major HYBE hits:
Martin's credits include:
- TXT's "Deja Vu," "Miracle," and upcoming "Beautiful Strangers"
- ENHYPEN's "Outside"
- LE SSERAFIM's "Pierrot"
- ILLIT's viral hit "Magnetic"
James has worked on:
- Choreography for ILLIT's "Magnetic," "Cherish (My Love)," and "Tick-Tack"
- Co-producing TXT's "Deja Vu" and "Miracle" with Martin
This debut coincides with HYBE's strong Q1 2025 performance, reporting 500 billion won revenue - a 39% increase year-over-year. The timing suggests confidence in launching new talent during the company's growth phase.
Big Hit Music's track record includes developing BTS into global superstars and establishing TXT as a major force in fourth-generation K-pop. The label appears to be betting on creative authenticity and collaborative artistry for their next chapter.
The group will showcase their creativity across multiple fields including composing, writing lyrics, performance, and videography based on their personal stories. With their August 18 debut approaching, fans worldwide are watching to see if Big Hit Music can replicate their previous success with this innovative approach to K-pop group formation.
The official group name and additional details remain under wraps, building anticipation for what could be K-pop's next major breakthrough act.
