Recent news media reported that a backup dancer who just recently participated in Mnet's "Kingdom: Legendary War" episode has been diagnosed and confirmed with COVID-19.

As of writing this article, yesterday, on the 6th of May, SPOTV News reported that a backup dancer who was able to perform with the members of K-pop boy groups iKON, THE BOYZ, and SF9 for a collaboration stage among groups was tested positive for COVID-19 on the same day.

To confirm the alleged reports, Mnet responded, "A dancer who participated in the 'Kingdom' recording on the 4th of May was diagnosed with COVID-19. We received this news just today on the 6th of May."

To further explain the situation, Mnet shared the following statement:

"An epidemiologic investigation is currently being carried out. According to our internal assessment, there seem to be no cast members or staff members who came in close contact with the backup dancer. Not only iKON, THE BOYZ, and SF9 who performed with the backup dancer, but all cast members including BTOBStray Kids, and ATEEZ as well as all of the production crew and staff members are receiving preemptive testing. As we receive the results and guidelines, we will diligently adhere to them and cooperate."

Moreover, recent updates from JYP Entertainment confirm that all members of Stray Kids, alongside their staff, were negative with COVID-19. Ultimately good news that will surely put netizens and fans at some ease.

JYP Entertainment shares as follows:

"Stray Kids members and their staff preemptively underwent coronavirus tests yesterday, and everyone received a negative result."

Hopefully, the rest of the K-pop boy groups and staff receive negative results as well, but other agencies have not released statements with regards to the results. Everyone, from the agencies to netizens and fans, is surely hoping for the best.

Please standby for upcoming updates.
