JYP Entertainment Receives 1 Star Reviews From Previous Employees, Find Out Why Here
JYP Entertainment is one of the most exclusive and successful South Korean entertainment agencies at present. Housing artists such as TWICE, ITZY, Stray Kids, DAY6, and more, JYP Entertainment has made a name for itself as an agency that produces and creates.
Recently, however, former employees of JYP Entertainment revealed that JYP Entertainment might not be all glitz and glam. JYP Entertainment made headlines for multiple 1-star reviews coming from former employees.
The former employees not only rated JYP Entertainment but also listed its advantages, disadvantages, and how they think the company should improve. Below are reviews coming from two (taken from multiple) former JYP Entertainment employees:
Former Employee A
According to former employee A, "I would not recommend JYP Entertainment."
Advantages:
"The company holidays is the only pro I can think of working in JYP Entertainment. Unfortunately, even trying to use holiday time was a hassle due to the fact that you had to be careful because you might end up having too much stockpiled work."
Disadvantages:
"Although there are a lot I can think off, the age and rank level discrimination is pretty bad."
How JYP Entertainment can improve:
"Don't just listen to your employees' complaints. Although efforts were done, I personally did not feel any improvement.
Former Employee B
"I experienced the worst work-life balance while working for JYP Entertainment," employee B opened up.
Advantages:
"After the new building opened, JYP Entertainment felt more like an actual company. Moreover, the food in the building really improved but contrary to popular beliefs, it's not free."
Disadvantages:
"I can only count the times I did not work overtime. Sometimes I even had to work overnight for JYP Entertainment, thus ruining my personal life. In addition, JYP Entertainment's system for everything is still quite old fashioned, at times even using papers for note taking."
How JYP Entertainment can improve:
"Please contemplate on your employee turnover rate as it is high. Instead of hiring new employees, perhaps find out the reason why this is the case."
As netizens, these still can be considered as speculations and allegations and might just have been falsified as much as they are confirmed. However, the number of ratings is alarming and is a cause for JYP Entertainment to look back and see where the agency can improve.
