G-Dragon Declares Taeyang His Partner For Life
K-Pop superstar G-Dragon proudly called fellow artist Taeyang as his "partner for life." Both singer-songwriters knew each other since they were 13 and have been close friends ever since. Fans can't help but declare the stars' enduring friendship as their friendship goals.
G-Dragon posted Wednesday on Instagram a sweet selfie with fellow Big Bang member Taeyang and captioned the photo "partner for life." He even added the heart and sun emojis as a reference to the Korean word "Taeyang" which also means the sun. The "Eyes, Nose, Lips" crooner smiled at the camera and wore a black cap under a black hooded jacket. The Big Bang leader, on the other hand, looked cleaner than he did not long ago when he revealed a growing beard but still sported a yellow beanie and dark-rimmed glasses. Though he's struggling to quit smoking, a cigarette stick perched noticeably up his left ear.
G-Dragon and his "partner for life" first met when they were cast in Jinusean's "A-yo" music video. The "Crooked" rapper revealed in a 2010 interview with Asiae that he couldn't help but notice Taeyang when he first saw him. The "Wedding Dress" singer later joined him under YG Entertainment where they both trained for six years before Big Bang's debut. The 28-year-old YG artists said they have "so much fun together" and "a lot of memories" they can look back to.
They even collaborated as a hip hop duo in 2014 for the chart-topping song "Good Boy." G-Dragon expressed just how comfortable he felt with his childhood friend during a 2014 interview. "Taeyang doesn't talk much and he doesn't act out loud, but he's a friend that brings a lot of feeling when he's next to you," Soompi quoted him as saying. He also said, "If there could be one friend next to me when I die, I hope it's Taeyang." In return, Taeyang praised him for having "no evil in him" but only a "kind heart" and for being so nice to the point where he wondered if it's "possible for someone to be that nice."
