Big Bang’s T.O.P. Inspired Iconic Look From Joker Of 'Suicide Squad'
Big Bang's T.O.P. revealed to be an inspiration for the iconic look of Joker on the 2016 American film "Suicide Squad." The Korean pop star dyed his hair mint green during the promotions for the Big Bang 2015 single "Bae Bae." Actor Jared Leto, who played the role of Joker, later sported a similar hairstyle and color on the film.
The artistic team behind "Suicide Squad" attended the Hair and Makeup Symposium at the Academy of Motion Pictures Los Angeles Events two days ago. They displayed the various photos of inspiration pieces behind their creation of the iconic looks for their characters such as Joker and Harley Quinn. A photo of Big Bang's T.O.P. is captured lying among the inspiration pieces. "Suicide Squad" went on to win the Oscar for "Best Makeup and Hairstyling."
T.O.P. now sports a cleaner shorter hair for his military cut which he calls "Spock," a reference to the Star Trek character of the same name. Before enlisting in the military, though, he's known to have sported some of the craziest hairstyles along with his fellow Big Bang members. T.O.P. used to dye out-of-this-world colors on his hair such as silver blonde, teal, pink and even more. Yet he's always managed to rock even the craziest look.
YG Entertainment shared in 2012 that T.O.P.'s bright sky blue hair color is just among a "diverse spectrum of fashion" and part of the various concepts they plan to eventually reveal. They also proudly claimed that the Big Bang rapper still pulled off his masculine beauty. "The other members have most definitely taken the risk to transform into something just as shocking as TOP has. They have especially put forth a lot of effort in their hair to better surprise their fans," the label told OSEN News in a phone interview, according to bigbangupdates.
