RM Ep 331 - 'Running Man' Staff officially Apologies to Cast Members and Fans

The latest episode of "Running Man" presented a well-deserved apology and a proof of the cast's strong bond over the past seven years.

The Christmas episode of the longest-running South Korean variety show was filled with drama as the crew took the opportunity to publicly apologize to the cast members.

The "Running Man" crew handed a basket full of apples and flowers. The apple is also known as "sagwa" in Korean which means sorry. MC Yoo Jae Suk took out the card that was inside the gift basket and read it out loud.

"For everyone loving 'Running Man,'" he read. "We apologize to everyone for being greatly hurt. From now on, we will be more mature and work harder."

Yoo Jae Suk also added, "We will be running harder than ever before in the New Year. I apologize once again for making you worry. Merry Christmas."

This was supposed to be the last episode for singer Kim Jong Kook, also dubbed in the show as "The Commander," after the recent controversy surrounding his and actress Song Ji Hyo's departure from the show.

The public eventually found out that Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo weren't informed about the producers' decision to kick them off until the last minute.

The producers issued an apology and held an emergency meeting with all the cast and crew before they decided to end the show in February 2017. Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo agreed to return until the last episode but decided to donate their remaining pay from the show instead.

"I'm seeing faces that I never thought I would be seeing again," Kim Jong Kook said during the latest episode.

The "Running Man" members also proved just how well they know each other as they correctly guessed Haha's answers to questions related to him.

They ended up tearing up when the successful mission made them realize their strong camaraderie developed over the years in "Running Man."
