When K-pop groups disband, their relationship with their former agency is most of the time on the fence. Some K-pop idols have a good relationship while some leave their former agencies with a bad taste in their mouths.

As of writing this article, the latter could be the case with the latest K-pop group who disbanded and their former agency.

The 21st of May was the day all Buddies, the fans of Gfriend, around the world had their hearts abruptly broken as GFriend officially ended their contract with Source Music

The sudden announcement shook the K-pop world  as all the members of GFriend decided not to renew their contracts.

Not long after the Source Music made the announcement, a lot of Buddies became really upset as the agency noted that GFriend will no longer promote or do any activities in the future.

This was due to the expiration of GFriend's exclusive contracts only four days prior to the date of the GFriend member's contract termination.

As of writing this article, there have been a lot of comments over the K-pop girl group's abrupt disbandment because GFriend has a huge fan base both domestically in South Korean and internationally.

Furthermore, fans of GFriend seem so sure that there is animosity between the K-pop girl group and their previous entertainment agency due to GFriend member, Umji, notably deleted two photos from her Instagram account

Not long after GFriend officially disbanded, Umji then deleted two posts of herself being featured in a clip from HYBE Museum, which made a lot of her personal fans and Buddies believe that there was something wrong.

Buddies all over the world went on to talk about GFriend's Umji deleting photos on her social media page.

Both the members of GFriend and their previous agency, Source Music, have not released any statement on the matter.
