South Korea’s Seoul Puts EXO Sehun’s Birthday Ads On Hold Due To Elections
SM Entertainment's EXO has been active since 2012. Presently, they are one of the most popular male K-pop groups who are in the business. Even though they have not made a complete debut due to military enlistment, their individual solo careers are still garnering a huge following.
EXO is composed of nine members: Suho, Xiumin, Lay, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, and Sehun.
The aforementioned idols are adored by their fans, EXO-Ls (the name of their fandom). EXO-Ls appreciate the boys so much, they usually celebrate the birthdays of EXO members in a special way. But recently, due to Election Laws, an EXO member's birthday ads were not posted.
Normally in K-Pop fandoms, most of the time, fans prepare and hold advertisements to celebrate and commemorate their idol's birthday. This was supposedly the case for EXO's Sehun as his birth month is this April.
Fans of the EXO member had prepared advertisements that were scheduled on the dates the 2nd of April until the 12th of April, which was supposed to end on Sehun's real birthday.
Unfortunately, the ads fell through due to the fact that this happened during the same time as the elections for the mayor of Seoul. This means that the birthday ads for Sehun had to be rescheduled due to the Election law.
This was somewhat peculiar due to the fact that one of the candidates running for mayor similarly also has the name Sehun.
Due to this man reason, EXO Sehun's birthday ads might incur more problems due to candidate Oh Sehun's party colors being red. Again a coincidence because EXO Sehun's flags are also colored red in his birthday advertisement.
Seeing this, Sehun's fans and netizens that saw this were surprised and sad at the situation. Regardless, the birthday ads for EXO's Sehun have been rescheduled to the 16th of April until the 18th.
