On A Hot Streak: EXO’s Very Own Baekhyun Breaks Record With Solo ‘Bambi’
The 2nd of April was the day that SM Entertainment announced that EXO member and soloist Baekhyun would be enlisting for his mandatory military service on the 6th of May.
The agency announced that "Baekhyun will enlist in the military. There will be no separate event, and his enlistment will be held privately."
EXO's Baekhyun will be the sixth member of EXO to enlist in the South Korean military. After his enlistment on the 6th of May, Baekhyun will undergo basic military training for three weeks and then proceed to do social work.
But it seems as though, prior to his enlistment, EXO's Baekhyun is still not done collating accolades.
Recently, EXO's Baekhyun once again repeated his previous record as a solo artist with his third mini-album entitled "Bambi."
As per reports from Hanteo Chart, the mini-album "Bambi" has reached around 868,840 album sales in the first week of its release. This is the highest number of album sales in the initial week of its release for a solo artist. "Bambi" dropped a little over a week ago on the 30th of March.
EXO Baekhyun's previous record entitled "Delight," was the album that held this accolade. This was Baekhyun's second mini-album released which came out in May of 2020.
Moreover, EXO Baekhyun's album made waves across both global and local charts. "Bambi" was able to reach the number 1 spot on iTunes Top Albums charts across 60 regions.
The album also was able to attain the 1st spot on China's QQ Music and Kugou Music's Best-Selling Digital Albums charts.
Lastly, "Bambi" reached number 1 on multiple South Korean music charts.
Congratulations to EXO's Baekhyun!
Previously, EXO's Baekhyun, alongside IU, debuted on YouTube's "Global YouTube Music Video" chart for the most recent week, ending on the 1st of April with their songs "Bambi" and "LILAC," respectively.
