Gong Yoo To Meet Fans In Taiwan & Hong Kong; Find Out The Dates Here!
Hallyu star Gong Yoo will be meeting his fans in Taiwan and Hong Kong this coming spring. At least 13 more countries have reportedly reached out to the star with offers to hold fan meetings. The 37-year-old actor's immense popularity apparently spilled overseas after he launched a career comeback last year.
Gong Yoo will hold a fan meeting with the slogan "Live your dream, Hear your dream, you are my dream" in Taiwan on April 29 and another in Hong Kong on May 6, according to Soompi. Taiwan ranked the "Goblin" star as "Hallyu's 4th Great King" after "Descendants of the Sun" star Song Joong Ki, "Love in the Moonlight" actor Park Bo Gum and "Sungkyunkwan Scandal" star Yoo Ah In. Taiwanese superstar Shu Qi and actress Vivian Sung also revealed to be Gong Yoo's fans. His management label Soop Entertainment disclosed last month that the actor received offers left and right from other agencies and other countries that invite him to hold fan meetings. These countries also include China, Japan, Singapore, United States, Canada and Australia.
The actor first tasted success after he starred in the MBC series "The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince" in 2007. He became a highly sought actor again after he starred in last year's blockbuster film "Train to Busan" and followed this up with the record-breaking tvN romantic fantasy series "Goblin." The entertainment world almost held their breaths as they anticipated the actor's next project.
That's when an insider from the actor's agency revealed that Gong Yoo wanted to take a break from work and go on a vacation in mid-March. "He will be evaluating all scenarios regarding his next work during that time. His next work is most likely going to be a movie rather than a drama," said the insider, according to Koreaboo. Gong Yoo, who's been filming for commercials, topped the list in last month's spokesmodel brand reputation ranking. His "Goblin" leading lady Kim Go Eun came in second place. Another "Goblin" co-star, Lee Dong Wook, also scheduled a fan meeting "4 My Dear" on Sunday and planned to kick off his 2017 Asian Tour in April.
