Gong Yoo To Go On Vacation Mid-March
Hallyu star Gong Yoo plans to take a much needed vacation mid-March before he chooses his next project.
The "Goblin" actor, who has been highly in demand with offers even coming from all over the world, hasn't taken a day for himself yet and chose to enjoy a long break starting next month.
An insider from Gong Yoo's management agency Soop Entertainment revealed Friday the actor's plans.
"Currently, Gong Yoo is extremely busy filming for commercials," Koreaboo quoted the insider as saying. "We think he will be taking a break away from schedules from mid-March and onwards."
The insider also added that the actor will use this opportunity to determine what he wants to do next.
"He will be evaluating all scenarios regarding his next work during that time. His next work is most likely going to be a movie rather than a drama," said the insider.
According to Soompi, Soop Entertainment as well as agencies from outside South Korea revealed that the actor is being courted with offers to hold fan meetings in at least 15 countries such as China, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, United States, Canada and Australia.
Gong Yoo is also ranked in Taiwan as "Hallyu's 4th Great King" following behind "Descendants of the Sun" actor Song Joong Ki, "Love in the Moontlight" star Park Bo Gum and "Sungkyunkwan Scandal" actor Yoo Ah In.
Taiwanese star Shu Qi, known for the pan-Asian film "Closer," and "Café. Waiting. Love" actress Vivian Sung are among Gong Yoo's fans.
Soop Entertainment also dismissed previous health rumors surrounding the actor and clarified that Gong Yoo's just exhausted due to his busy schedule.
"Several fans uploaded a post on how Gong Yoo looked sick on their Weibo accounts," explained the agency, according to Koreaboo. "This spread throughout China, and reached a Chinese news outlet, where they published an article stating he was in a bad health condition. Currently, Gong Yoo is healthily doing his best to finalize filming for Goblin."
