Did Doc Ock’s Line In ‘Spider-Man No Way Home’ Trailer Confirm Tobey Maguire?
Fans believe that Doc Ock's small line in the "Spider-Man: No Way Home" trailer might have confirmed Tobey Maguire's return as Spider-Man.
Marvel's upcoming "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is expected to have a lot of versions of Spider-Man. But the recent trailer showed no indication of this expectation. Or is that what Marvel and Sony want their fans to believe?
To the amazement of fans, a lot of previous villains were confirmed and teased in the trailer for "Spider-Man: No Way Home", but among them, the one that garnered the most attention was Alfred Molina's Doc Ock which was all the way back from "Spider-Man 2."
As per the trailer, when Doc Ock appears, he utters the line, "Hello, Peter." After this, the "Spider-Man: No Way Home" trailer then switches scenes to Tom Holland's Peter Parker on top of a car, immediately suiting up in his Iron Spider armor.
Obviously, both Marvel and Sony clearly want fans to think that Doc Ock is talking to Tom Holland's Spider-Man, but the studios might be doing their best not to spoil Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man appearing in the movie.
Fans have believed that perhaps the Spider-Man on top of the car is actually Tobey Maguire's in the "Spider-Man: No Way Home" trailer but the camera angle only shows the point of view showing Tom Holland, cleverly hiding Tobey.
But perhaps in a more surprising way, the "Spider-Man: No Way Home" trailer might have hidden Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man via CGI. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has never shied away from using CGI in order to change scenes, after all.
Perhaps the next trailer for "Spider-Man: No Way Home" might give more clarity regarding Maguire and/or Garfield's appearance in the upcoming film. Only time will tell though.
