LOONA, SEVENTEEN, BLACKPINK, TWICE, TXT, & BTS Represent K-Pop On Billboard’s World Albums Chart
The support and love from netizens and K-pop fandoms from varying K-pop groups all around the world were shown as a plethora of K-pop groups has ranked high on the most recent "Worlds Albums Chart."
As of writing this article, just recently Billboard has dropped their famous chart, "World Albums Chart" which spans the week ending on the 17th of July. Among a handful of talented artists, six K-pop groups were able to rank high, representing the K-pop genre on a global stage.
One of the most popular new names in the K-pop industry, LOONA made their debut on this week's "World Albums Chart" with their mini-album entitled "&." LOONA's album was able to place 14th.
Following this, SEVENTEEN's "Your Choice" was able to rank 10th on its 3rd week on the chart. "THE ALBUM" by BLACKPINK then retained the 8th spot, staying on the chart for 40 consecutive weeks straight.
TWICE then set the world ablaze with their latest album entitled "Taste of Love." TWICE's album was able to stay powerful on the 6th spot, being its fourth consecutive week on the "World Albums Chart."
Right after TWICE is HYBE Label's Tomorrow X Together (more popularly known as TXT) with their album "The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE." TXT stayed strong holding onto the #2 spot, being their sixth straight week on the "World Albums Chart."
Furthermore, TXT's "The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE" also has gone on to spend its 5th straight week on another Billboard chart; "Billboard 200." TXT's album is now the longest-charting K-pop album of this year.
Lastly, the most popular musical group in the world, HYBE Label's BTS, had not one, not two, not three, but a total of 6 albums on Billboard's "World Albums Chart" for this week.
The BTS albums "Map of the Soul: 7," "BE," "Love Yourself: Answer," "Love Yourself: Tear," "Map of the Soul: Persona," and "Skool Luv Affair," respectively placed 1st, 5th, 7th, 11th, 12th, and 13th on Billboard's "World Albums Chart."
