In February, actor Jo Byung Gyu went on hiatus after becoming a victim of malicious rumors about being a perpetrator of school violence back in New Zealand.

After a thorough legal investigation, the rumors surrounding "The Uncanny Counter" star were proven false. According to Jo Byung Gyu's agency, the netizen responsible for posting the false allegations have apologized to the actor and has since taken down the original post.

HB Entertainment has also reminded everyone that they will be taking strong legal action should another wrongful accusation is thrown against any of their artists.

Now, the "Sky Castle" actor is making his small-screen comeback with a live-action adaptation of a popular webtoon. "A Loser's History" will be a romantic-comedy drama based on a webtoon that revolves around the story of how love makes someone a loser.

Jo Byung Gyu is cast to portray the awkward male lead Seo Min Ki. Despite the popularity of the source material, however, many are worried about Jo Byung Gyu's upcoming drama.

The webtoon includes some problematic scenes and because of such, there has been an uproar against Jo Byung Gyu's "A Loser's History." Viewers are concerned that the live drama adaptation would romanticize "gaslighting" scenes which could send a negative message to young audiences.

Meanwhile, Jo Byung Gyu's latest drama "The Uncanny Counter" was such a success that many drama lovers are requesting a second season. Previous reports have cited the possibility of "The Uncanny Counter Season 2" but as of the writing of this article, nothing has been set in stone yet. Neither the filming schedule nor the release timing for the highly-anticipated sequel has been announced. As of now, fans can only hope to receive some good news anytime soon.

In the meantime, what do you think of Jo Byung Gyu's upcoming drama, "A Loser's History"? Let us know and stay tuned for more updates!
