WJSN's Dayoung surprised fans with the unexpected release of a music video teaser for "Number One Rockstar," a B-side track from her solo debut single "gonna love me, right?" The teaser dropped via Starship Entertainment's official YouTube channel.

LA Streets Meet Film Aesthetic

The teaser showcases Dayoung walking through Los Angeles streets, shot with a vintage film camera style. A key moment features her gazing at her own image on an electronic billboard, followed by the text "Starring DAYOUNG," creating a cinematic movie trailer atmosphere.

The preview highlights Dayoung's powerful vocals alongside the track's rock-influenced sound, building anticipation for the full release.

From Group Member to Solo Artist

Dayoung launched her solo career on September 9th with "gonna love me, right?" after nearly nine years as a WJSN member. She took creative control of the project, participating in planning, songwriting, and composition across all three tracks: "body" (title track), "number one rockstar," and "marry me."

"Number One Rockstar" combines guitar riffs with confident lyrics about claiming center stage, embodying Dayoung's artistic ambition. The song represents her journey from group performer to solo artist.

International Recognition

Her solo debut has garnered global attention, with coverage from major outlets including Forbes, NME, and FOX 13 Seattle, plus MTV channels across the US, UK, Germany, Japan, and Italy.

Dayoung successfully completed her first week of solo music show appearances, performing "body" on M Countdown, Music Bank, Show! Music Core, and Inkigayo. Her confident stage presence and live vocals impressed both fans and critics.

What's Next

The themes throughout "gonna love me, right?" center on confidence, love, and dreaming big. As Dayoung explained, the album title works both as a confident statement ("you're gonna love me") and a vulnerable question ("gonna love me, right?").

With her successful solo debut generating buzz domestically and internationally, "Number One Rockstar" represents Dayoung's bold declaration of artistic independence after nearly a decade in the K-pop industry.
