Ahead Of Disbandment, Eunha Of GFRIEND Debuts On SoundCloud Covering IU’s ‘LILAC’
Previously, GFRIEND members Sowon, Yerin, Eunhs, Yuju, SinB, and Umji did not decidedly renew their contract with Source Music, choosing to go their separate ways. Source Music then went on to confirm the reports and even released an official statement.
Source Music went on to share that GFRIEND's exclusive contract with the agency will be expiring on the 22nd of May, more than a week ago as of writing this article. After extensive negotiations between the K-pop girl group and the agency, both decided to separate ways.
Source Music went on to express their heartfelt gratitude to GFRIEND since the K-pop girl group has deservedly won the love of K-pop fans in their six-year journey. Source Music went on to thank the K-pop girl group for trusting the agency in their career.
For the past 6 years, GFRIEND has become an unrivaled presence among K-pop girl groups with their innocent concept. The six-membered girl group debuted under Source Music in 2015 with their lead single "Glass Beads."
Later that year, GFRIEND released their first comeback with their lead single "Me Gustas Tu." A fan video of GFRIEND performing "Me Gustas Tu" despite falling a plethora of times on a very slippery stage propelled the international fame of GFRIEND due it becoming viral.
GFRIEND then released "Rough" in 2016, giving them their first music show win and their first triple crowns for MCountdown, Show Champion, Music Bank, and Inkigayo.
"Rough" went on to put GFRIEND in K-Pop's hall of fame at second place for K-pop girl group songs with the most music show wins at 15. Due to their successful 6-year stint, no matter what the individual GFRIEND members will release, their fans will always support.
Evidently, Eunha went on to elate fans as she recently opened her very own SoundCloud account. Fans immediately rushed to support the former GFRIEND member.
Two days ago as of writing this article, on the 30th of May, Eunha went on to celebrate her birthday by sharing an amazing cover of IU's latest hit track "LILAC" on her new SoundCloud account. Eunha even went on to add in the caption; "My birthday song."
