ITZY 'Tunnel Vision' at Zenith Paris — Efficient
ITZY played Zénith Paris - La Villette on Tuesday night, their first Paris show in two years and the third stop on the European leg of "3rd World Tour: Tunnel Vision," following London on September 11 and Amsterdam on September 13. This review draws on the tour's confirmed setlist and format, established and repeated across its earlier legs, plus press and fan documentation from the European dates - not firsthand attendance in Paris. What follows can speak to structure, sequencing and repertoire with confidence. It can't speak to how the 6,300-seat room actually sounded on the night, or catch anything that broke from the pattern.
The pattern itself is consistent enough to describe with confidence. The show opens with the title track from November's Tunnel Vision EP, then moves fast through "DYT," "Girls Will Be Girls" and "Walk" before settling into older singles like "Kiss & Tell" and "WANNABE." It's a smart sequencing choice - front-load the least familiar material while the crowd is at its most forgiving, then cash in the hits once energy starts to dip.
"Tunnel Vision" itself is the show's weak link, and it was a weak link on record, too. Korean critic outlet IZM gave the EP's title track a mixed grade on release, faulting it for reaching for a bigger, brassier sound than five voices can consistently carry. On this setlist, the song does the job of announcing the tour's concept without doing much to earn the concept's name.
The back half is where the show earns its ticket price. Five solo segments - Lia's "Asylum," Yuna's "Tangerine," Yeji's "Pocket," Chaeryeong's "Undefined" and Ryujin's "Look" - give each member a stretch outside the group's usual choreography-first format, and by most accounts from the London and Amsterdam stops, these are where the tour has drawn its warmest reviews. "GOLD" and "Wild Wild West" follow, restoring the group's full-volume dynamic, and "In the Morning" through "LOCO" close the main set on songs the room already knows by heart - the reliable move for a tour built to travel through cities where not every audience has followed the catalog closely.
The staging concept hasn't changed since the tour opened in Seoul in February, when the group framed the show around total immersion - blocking out everything except ITZY for two hours. On paper it's a strong hook for a title with "tunnel" in the name; in practice, on this European leg, it mostly shows up as video interludes between songs rather than anything that changes how a number is staged. The visual idea and the setlist don't yet talk to each other as directly as the concept promised on paper.
The encore leans on nostalgia over novelty: "VCR" and "Mirror," neither a recent single, function more as a thank-you to fans who've stuck around since 2019 than a pitch to convert new ones. That's a reasonable trade for a 6,300-seat room instead of an arena, but it also means the show never quite escapes the feeling of a well-drilled machine doing exactly what it planned, in exactly the order it planned to do it.
That predictability is both the show's strength and its ceiling. ITZY has spent three world tours refining a formula - sequence the deep cuts early, hand out solo spotlights, close on the anthems - and by this point in the Tunnel Vision run, the mechanics show through. What the format hasn't solved is the same problem the EP had on record: the group's newest song is also the least essential part of the set built around it.
