#SMArigged Trends On Twitter As BLACKPINK’s Lisa & Rosé, NCT Dream, Stray Kids & More Didn’t Win Bonsang!

A couple of days ago on the 23rd of January, the 31st Seoul Music Awards (aka SMA) occured at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.

During the 31st Seoul Music Awards, a plethora of talented K-pop artists performed on stage and even took home awards.

Some K-pop artists who won an award at the 31st Seoul Music Awards are IU, NCT DREAM, NCT 127 , BTS, ENHYPEN, ATEEZ, aespa, SEVENTEEN, Brave Girls, Kang Daniel and more.

A lot of netizens and K-pop fans were happy due to their favorite K-Pop artists winning, many were disappointed and were in a way, suspicious at the Seoul Music Awards.

As per some K-pop fans, some of the K-Pop artists who got a huge result and an amazing 2021 did not win an award at the Seoul Music Awards, more specifically the highly coveted main award, the Bonsang.

A plethora of K-pop fans shared their disappointment that K-pop artists such as NCT DREAM, TXT, Stray Kids, IVE, BLACKPINK's very own Rosé and Lisa, and more, did not even win a Bonsang at this year's Seoul Music Awards.

Eventually, things went on social media more particularly on Twitter, as the hashtag  #SMArigged trended. This was done to get the attention of the Seoul Music Awards for their supposed rigging of votes to favor specific K-pop artists.

To add to this, a lot of fans also charge the Seoul Music Awards of giving awards to K-pop artists who attended the awards event and labels and K-pop artists that they are in a good relationship with.

Netizens and fans also went on an online community forum to share their disappointment with the results of the Seoul Music Awards. Some have even called the Seoul Music Awards the "SM Music Awards," alluding that the awards ceremony was biased to SM Entertainment artists.
