"I think the time has come for me to say this, today is my last scheduled activity, and on January 17, I will be enlisting in the army as a member of the military band," DAY6's Dowon shared.

Furthermore, DAY6's Wonpil expressed that Dowoon decided to enlist in the military sooner than expected so that his military service would match up as near as possible with the DAY6 members who have begun their military service in hopes of shortening DAY6's hiatus.

"Because I want the band to be active again. What's important is that we go and come back quickly, so that we can start things back up again as a band," DAY6's Dowoon went on to add.

Notably, DAY6's Dowoon will be the third member of the band to start his military service. Both Sungjin and Young K are currently serving in the military. Jae will be the only member of DAY6 not to have mandatory military service as he is not a South Korean citizen.

Furthermore, DAY6's Dowoon went on to express that he was truly relieved to be able to continue to play the drums even though he will undergo military service.

"It's good for us to go quickly and then get back together again quickly. I'm already looking forward to what kind of music we'll return with when we all get back together again, so I hope My Days will look forward to it too. We'll return as a full band before you know it, so please don't worry too much," DAY6's Wonpil assured My Days, the fandom name of DAY6.

Agreeing with Wonpil, Dowoon further comforted fans by expressing that if they just go about their everyday life, he will come back on his own before they know it.
