DAY6’s Young K Officially Enlists, Bids Farewell To My Days With Emotional Message!

Military enlistment for the Korean army is what most male K-pop artists have to go through, to the sadness of their fans.

But this is not an indefinite goodbye as most male K-pop artists return after two years. Regardless, fans will still miss them and this is the recent case for My Days, the fandom name of DAY6, as DAY6's Young K has enlisted.

My Days bid farewell to DAY6's Young K and like the sweetheart that he is, the DAY6 member dropped a sweet message to his fans before enlisting.

As of writing this article, yesterday on the 12th of October, DAY6's Young K enlisted at a new recruit training center to get his basic military training. Not long after his training, Young K will serve in the Korean Augmentation Troops to the United States Army (also known as KATUSA).

To the pride of My Days, DAY6's Young K is notably the first K-pop idol to join the special branch.

Moreover, DAY6's Young K finished up his activities as the DJ of KBS Cool FM's "DAY6's Kiss the Radio" on the 10th of October, prior to enlisting in the army.

JYP Entertainment, DAY6 Young K's label, shared his farewell statement, "I often promise myself to live in the present. I think that the days I spent like that have accumulated to create the Young K of today, and I'd like to spend my days in the military as fully as I have until now."

"I hope that when I wrap up my military duties and return in good health, I will be able to have a concert where I can sing together and have fun with the audience. I think I'll be reminiscing about the thrill of being on stage at a concert even after my enlistment, just as I do now," DAY6's Young K noted further.

Young K then finally remarked that many people around him, including his father who also served in KATUSA, have told him that the meals are delicious there. He is looking forward to it, and he hopes that all of his fans will also eat well and always be healthy and happy.
