MAMAMOO's most recent album, "I Say MAMAMOO: The Best" just dropped recently and MooMoos (the fandom name of MAMAMOO) are loving it, most especially the new title track, "mumumumuch"!

But it has recently come to the attention of MooMoos that MAMAMOO's "I Say MAMAMOO: The Best" surprisingly has very low sales on its first day. Since the debut of MAMAMOO, they have always been one of the best-selling third-generation K-pop girl groups. So how could this be?

MAMAMOO's previous mini-album, "WAW" is extremely close to reaching 100,000 sales as per the Hanteo chart, even selling 38,259 copies on its first day of release. "WAW" just dropped three months ago and MooMoos have been excited to get another MAMAMOO album since Wheein's departure from RBW.

Thus fans expected that MAMAMOO's "I Say MAMAMOO: The Best" to even exceed or at least stay on par with "WAW". Speculations even came to light that MooMoos were aiming to have 50,000 sales on the first day alone.

Unfortunately, the first day sales from MAMAMOO's "I Say MAMAMOO: The Best" did not even reach 20% of the goal. On the 15th of September at the end of tracking day "I Say MAMAMOO: The Best" tallied a final first-day sales total of only 6,981 copies.

Due to this, fans are baffled as to why the first-day sales were so low. Even more so as MAMAMOO's performance on other platforms has drastically improved.

Notably, the title track for "WAW," "Where Are We Now," took approximately 10 hours to reach 1 million views on YouTube. But the title track for "I Say MAMAMOO: The Best," "Mumumumuch," went beyond 1 million views in less than 8 hours.

Furthermore, "I Say MAMAMOO: The Best" also has 12 #1s on global iTunes charts, and all 23 tracks on the album have charted within the top 50 on Korean music streaming platform Bugs.

So the support from MooMoos is surely still truly there. Due to this, fans have been so confused as to why the first-day sales were so low.

As per the theories of fans, Korean music stores such as Yes24, Hottracks, Bizent, Music Korea, and Synnara, "I Say MAMAMOO: The Best" are already sold out. This implies that it is probable that RBW was not able to print enough copies of MAMAMOO's new album.

Nothing has been proven as of writing this article but fans point towards the lackluster support from RBW.
