As known to most netizens and MIDZYs (the fandom name of ITZY), ITZY's leader, Yeji, has always been ready to be a K-pop superstar. Her charisma both onstage and offstage always shine and it is evident as she is one of the most popular 4th gen K-pop artists today.

In a previous V Live, ITZY's Yeji talked about how her audition with JYP Entertainment went. In the broadcast, ITZY's Yeji shared that two JYP Entertainment staff members chose her for two main reasons.

ITZY's Yeji shared, "The smaller staff member said she chose me for my unique face."

Almost popular to all due to her visuals that can both be fierce and cute, Yeji's beauty is no joke! Following this, Yeji asked the second JYP Entertainment employee for the real reason why she was chosen. The staff member noted that Yeji was chosen due to her talent for dancing!

"'What made you decide to scout me?' I asked her. 'I scouted for your dance,' she answered," ITZY's Yeji revealed.

Although it might seem simple, Yeji's audition was quite complicated.

"'Don't you remember? I asked you to dance freestyle so many times. Didn't you dance freestyle like seven times?' She said so," ITZY's Yeji noted.

Yeji then looked back during her days when she was auditioning with a certain fondness. Although a difficult task to overcome, Yeji was able to give it her all and prove why she deserved a spot in JYP Entertainment.

ITZY's Yeji expressed, "So I said, 'Right, I remember. You did it for a purpose, right?' Freestyle dance, I think I did it like seven or eight times. I danced so many times. She said she was excited then. I guess that's why she asked so many times."

Amazingly, Yeji was exactly what they needed!

ITZY's Yeji proudly announced, "I guess she thought she found someone who could dance a bit. I guess she was happy about it. 'I found one!' Maybe she thought like that."

ITZY's Yeji went on to audition in 2016 for JYP Entertainment. TWICE's "Like Ooh-Ahh" was the song she chose to audition with.

Everything else is now history!
