I.O.I Reunion Slated This May For Their Anniversary! Are You Excited?
The most popular 'what could have been' in K-pop history, I.O.I officially made its debut as a K-pop group project on the 4th of May 2016. They were formed after their participation in the Mnet survival show "Produce 101."
I.O.I dropped two mini-albums and a plethora of single tracks over the course of their less than a year career. Among their hits include the chart-topping track "Very Very Very." Unfortunately, since I.O.I is a temporary group, the girls disbanded on the 29th of January 2017.
But fans of I.O.I are in for a treat since it has been confirmed that I.O.I will have a reunion for their upcoming 5th anniversary!
I.O.I is slated to reunite during a live broadcast entitled "I.5.I - Yes, I Love It!". The broadcast will commemorate the fifth anniversary of I.O.I's debut, as per the media outlet, The Chosun Ilbo.
The live broadcast will occur on the 4th of May, 7 pm Korean Standard Time on the popular streaming platforms Tving, KT Olleh TV, and KT Seezn.
It was previously reported by South Korean media outlets Kyunghyang Shinmun and Sports Seoul that the 13th of April was the main date of the I.O.I reunion.
Previously, two of the original members of I.O.I, Kyulkyung and Kang Mina, will not make the reunion due to personal projects.
At present, no reports have been released if the I.O.I members will be complete or not. Hopefully, all the eleven members, Somi, Sejeong, Yoojung, Chungha, Sohye, Kyulkyung, Chaeyeon, Doyeon, Mina, Nayoung, and Yeonjung will be able to make it.
Previously, I.O.I was slated to have a reunion back in October of 2019. But it was canceled due to schedules and issues.
