This Week's Forbes Picks: K-Pop Groups Topping The World Digital Song Sales Chart
One way to measure the popularity of s K-pop groups is through the ranking of their songs in various charts. Recently, one of the most famous international charts, "Billboard World Digital Song Sales," released their rankings for this week.
Previously on the 27th of April, the popular American magazine Forbes uploaded an article where they talked about the latest rankings of K-pop groups alongside their songs on this week's "Billboard World Digital Song Sales" chart.
Here are the top K-pop songs for this week of April:
TOP 25 - JYP Entertainment's Stray Kids
JYP Entertainment's Stray Kids is ranked 25th and is noted by Forbes due to their recent appearance in the "Billboard World Digital Song Sales." Forbes pointed out how the K-pop boy group's single entitled "God's Menu" made it back to the chart, making it to no. 25.
Even though Stray Kids' track placed last in the ranking, it still means this is the 11th consecutive week making the chart.
TOP 23 - HYBE's (Formerly Bighit Entertainment) BTS
BTS once again makes the chart with their hit "Boy With Luv." The K-pop boy group's hit track made it to the 23rd spot. Moreover, Forbes recognized that BTS' hit is now spending its 76th nonconsecutive week in the ranking.
To further add to BTS's laurels, they became the first musical entertainers to ever make the top 1 spot on the "World Digital Song Sales" ranking with 27 varying hits. BTS's latest hit to make the chart is their new Japanese single entitled "Film Out."
TOP 21 - Play M Entertainment's Weekly
Debuting only on the 30th of June, 2020, Play M Entertainment's K-pop girl group, Weekly, is already making waves in the western region.
The K-pop girl group's latest hit song entitled "After School" ranked on the 21st spot on the "World Digital Song Sales" ranking. Weeekly is projected to keep rising internationally if the songs they drop are of the same or higher quality.
TOP 3 - YG Entertainment's BLACKPINK's
To top the list in terms of K-pop groups, YG Entertainment's BLACKPINK rounds up the fray. BLACKPINK's hit song, "How You Like That," made its way back to the top 5 of the ranking, previously placed on the 12th spot, currently sitting on the 3rd spot.
