Not One But Two: BLACKPINK’s Rosé Overtakes PSY, Recently Break Guinness World Records
Recently, BLACKPINK's Rosé has officially made her mark in the official Guinness World Records. She did this with her very first solo album title track entitled "On the Ground."
The official website of Guinness World Records noted that on the 9th of April, Rosé made history with her song's music video. The music video of "On the Ground" became recognized as the most-watched YouTube video of a K-pop solo artist within 24 hours.
Officially, the music video for Rosé's "On the Ground" was able to garner 41.6 million views on YouTube on the initial day of its upload. Guinness World Records was able to explain that this is the very first time in about eight years that fellow K-pop idol, Psy, was taken over on this spot with his previous hit, "Gangnam Style," which reached 36 million views.
To further expound on this, BLACKPINK's Rosé has been confirmed to be the very first, both in solo and in the group category, to have reached the top of the U.S. Billboard's global chart.
Rosé's hit "On the Ground" previously was on top of the U.S. Billboard Global. The song ranked both on streaming and sales, which was collated from over 200 regions internationally.
Beyond Rosé's "On the Ground," YG Entertainment's BLACKPINK also became number one last year on the Billboard Global Chart from their song "Love Sick Girls" which was the title track of their first full-length album, "The Album," released on the 2nd of October, 2020.
Guinness World Records went on to congratulate Rosé for the recent acquisition of her Guinness title. Furthermore, they also noted that this is the beginning of Rosé's career as a solo artist.
This is truly an amazing start to a very bright solo career for BLACKPINK's vocalist, Rosé. Congratulations to Rosé and BLINKS!
Moving forward, Rosé might not yet be done as she is still garnering awards and milestones with her solo debut.
