A New Tabletop RPG Bundle Is Raising Money For Reproductive Rights
Roll for Romance, a Dungeons and Dragons podcast, in collaboration with over 200 indie TTRPG creators, launched TTRPGs for Reproductive Rights on itch.io. The bundle offers an entire collection of almost 300 tabletop RPG games for only $5.
"Reproductive rights are fundamental and non-negotiable human rights that we must fight to protect," the description of the bundle reads.
The TTRPGs for Reproductive Rights bundle features over 275 games valued at over $1,000 when all are bought separately. All proceeds from sales will benefit the National Network for Abortion Funds and Planned Parenthood.

One of the featured games in the collection is The Abortionists, a LARP (or live-action role-playing game) that appears to shed light on the story of the Jane Collective, a group of women in Illinois who offered underground abortion services in 1972 before Roe v. Wade legalized abortion at the federal level.
After news about the leaked Supreme Court opinion broke, video game company Bungie became the first to speak out, condemning the news and offering support for its employees. "Bungie is committed to safeguarding the freedom and privacy of its employees and providing support to all employees affected by this decision," read Bungie's statement.
The developer for Psychonauts 2 Double Fine also spoke out, expressing, "We firmly believe that a decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade would deny people their human rights, and directly impact the lives, freedoms, and choices of everyone in this country."

This isn't the first time Itch.io has been used for hosting charitable game endeavors. The platform previously hosted a bundle for Ukrainian relief last March, earning over $1 million on its first day. The bundle packaged nearly 950 products of mostly games and books for a minimum donation of $10.
The platform also raised over $8 million in 2020 for its Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality, supporting the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and Community Bail Fund. It bundled a collection of over 1000 works across more than 840 creators for a minimum donation of only 5$.
TTRPGs for Reproductive Rights is doing just as well so far, with the bundle exceeding its $2,500 goal after only more than four hours since launching. The video game bundle for human rights ends on June 13th.
