Summertime is just around the corner and although a perfect time for taking in vitamin D at the beach, this season has the ability to particularly get too hot. Thus, one of the best ways to cool one's self down is cold treats, and among the tastiest chilly delicacies are Korean desserts.

Notably, although there are a plethora of tasty and unique Korean cold treats, here are the best desserts to munch on during the Summer:

Bingsu 

Bingsu, sometimes also referred to as bingsoo, is a Korean shaved ice dessert with sweet toppings that could include a variety of chopped fruit, condensed milk, fruit syrup, and sometimes red beans. This cold treat is perfect to help cool one's self off during Summer.

Chapssaltteok

Chapssaltteok is a Korean dessert made with sticky rice and red bean paste. This treat is somewhat similar to Japan's mochi and is a great delicacy to chew on during Summer. This dessert is known for its dense, chewy texture, being most popular with children.

Baesuk (Poached Pears)

The Korean treat called Baesuk is both a refreshing dessert for Summer and a home remedy for coughs and sore throats. This cool dessert is a poached pear that is added with peppercorn, ginger, and honey. Notably, some have tried using steamed pears as well.

Bungeo Ppang (Fish-shaped Pastry With Ice Cream)

Arguably one of the most popular Korean desserts, the Bungeo Ppang is a fish-shaped pastry filled with either a red bean paste or ice cream and is very popular during Winter and Summer. It is usually sold by street vendors at an affordable price, making this delicacy even more worth while.
