Just recently, a tragedy befell the seaside town of Uljin in North Gyeongsang Province as a large wildfire began. Unfortunately, the wildfire spread to the nearby city of Samcheok in Gangwon Province and destroyed over a hundred homes.

Following the tragedy, a myriad of stars and netizens immediately began giving donations. Here are some of the celebrities that immediately wanted to help against the wildfire.

As per the Hope Bridge Association of the National Disaster Relief, on the 6th of March, actor Lee Byung Hun made a donation of 100 million won (around  $82,200) to be placed towards emergency relief for the victims affected by the wildfire.

Actor Lee Byung Hun made the decision to donate after hearing that approximately 150 houses had been lost to the wildfire and that the victims were in dire need of temporary housing.

Furthermore, actor Song Kang Ho also made a donation of 100 million won to the Hope Bridge Association. The actor's agency, Sublime Artist Agency noted that the actor chose to donate with the hope that he could be of at least a little help to the victims affected by the wildfire.

Notably, K-pop idol turned actress Girl's Day's Hyeri also made a donation. The Hope Bridge Association shared that when the news of the wildfire went viral, Hyeri immediately contacted them to ask how to help the victims.

Girl's Day's Hyeri then asked for her donation of 50 million won (around $41,100) to be used to provide aid to the firefighters and to children from low-income families that were affected by the wildfire.
