BLACKPINK has been on an unofficial hiatus for almost 500 days now. The K-pop girl group's last comeback was with "Lovesick Girls" which dropped in October 2020. BLINKs, the fandom name of BLACKPINK, might have finally been given an explanation why.

Previously, BLACKPINK also had a lengthy hiatus as their comeback between "Kill This Love" and "How You Like That" lasted more than a year. But the sheer length of the K-pop group's current break has been too taxing on fans.

BLINKs have even accepted that BLACKPINK can not make a comeback as often as other K-pop artists. But as per a recent post on an online forum, some netizens and fans are assuming why BLACKPINK's recent hiatus has been very lengthy.

As per the recent post, it is believed that the reason why BLACKPINK's hiatus and scheduled comeback is lengthy is due to the production of YG Entertainment's upcoming K-pop girl group.

The post also explained that YG's upcoming K-pop group is being produced by Teddy, a producer who is extremely hands-on with BLACKINK. BLINKs believe that since he is busy due to the preparation of the upcoming K-pop group, Teddy has no time for BLACKPINK.

Other supposed details regarding YG Entertainment's upcoming K-pop girl group is as follows:

1. The group's name is not Baemon

2. Produced by Teddy

3. The number of members was reduced from 6 to 5 members

4. The leader was born in 2000, and the youngest was born in 2006

5. There are 4 Korean members and 1 Japanese member

6. There are 2 rappers, 1 Korean and 1 Japanese

7. The members speak English well

If the reports have some truth in them, it is very possible that Teddy is incredibly focused on YG Entertainment's upcoming K-pop girl group. Thus, the reason for BLACKPINK's lengthy hiatus.
