Son Naeun To Sit Out Apink’s Comeback Promotions, YG Entertainment Releases Statement!
To the sadness of Pink Pandas (the fandom name of Apink), Apink's Son Naeun will not be participating in the K-pop group's promotions for their upcoming special album.
Previously in December of 2021, IST Entertainment announced that Apink would be dropping a comeback in February of 2022. The label shared that although Naeun had signed with YG Entertainment as an actress, she would be joining the other members for their K-pop comeback.
As of writing this article, today on the 17th of January, IST Entertainment revealed that although Naeun would be in the album jacket photos and the music video of Apink's comeback, the K-pop idol will not be part of the promotions for Apink's special album.
IST Entertainment's full announcement is as follows:
"Hello, this is IST Entertainment.
This is our statement regarding Apink's February album, which was announced in previous articles and at their fan meeting.
The agency did our absolute best to adjust schedules and keep communication open so that Apink's special album, which is for their meaningful 10th debut anniversary, would have all six members for the promotions.
However, due to sudden scheduling conflicts, all of Apink's promotions except for the album jacket photos and the music video shoot will be carried out with five members (Chorong, Bomi, Jung Eun Ji, Namjoo, and Hayoung).
We ask that fans, who have waited a long time for Apink's comeback, take an understanding view of this statement.
Thank you."
Notably, Naeun's new label, YG Entertainment, also went on to release a statement regarding the K-pop idol's absence from Apink's upcoming special album promotions.
"Currently, there are some scheduling issues with the next project that Naeun is planning to work on, and as a result, she will be unable to participate in the group's other promotions, except for the album's jacket photoshoot and MV filming."
