Rehearsal footage from Lisa's FIFA World Cup opening ceremony preparation surfaced on X on June 10, two days before the performance. The clips show the 13-minute SoFi Stadium set in partial form, with staging and choreography visible ahead of the live event. Fan reaction was immediate - the footage had accumulated millions of views within hours of posting.

The ceremony runs June 12 at 4:30 p.m. local time at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, ahead of the United States' opening match against Paraguay. Lisa performs alongside Anitta, Rema, Katy Perry, Tyla, Future, and DJ Sanjoy. The set includes "Goals," the official FIFA World Cup 2026 anthem Lisa recorded with Anitta and Rema, produced by Grammy-winning producer Cirkut and Brazilian duo Tropkillaz. The track blends K-pop, Latin pop, and Afrobeats - a deliberate three-region fusion that mirrors the ceremony's own three-country format.

The booking makes Lisa the first female K-pop soloist and the first Thai artist to perform at a FIFA World Cup opening ceremony. BTS's Jungkook held the first Korean slot at the 2022 Qatar World Cup with "Dreamers." This is the second consecutive tournament in which FIFA has placed a K-pop act on an opening ceremony stage - the first time that has happened.

Tickets to the US-Paraguay match and the SoFi Stadium ceremony are not separately sold. For those not attending in person, the ceremony will be broadcast live across FIFA's broadcast partners, including Fox and Telemundo in the United States. The World Cup itself runs June 11 through July 19, with the final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. BTS is separately scheduled to perform at the Final halftime show on July 19, alongside Madonna and Shakira.

Lisa has been based in Bangkok since establishing her own management company, LLOUD, in 2023. "Goals" is her most prominent solo release since "New Woman" in 2024.
