K-Pop Verdict: FNC Entertainment Reveals The Contract Status Of Former AOA Member Jimin!

Shin Jimin, Former leader and main rapper of K-pop group AOA, has officially parted ways with FNC Entertainment.

It is known to most K-pop netizens that Shin Jimin made her debut in 2012 with AOA, a K-pop girl group under FNC Entertainment. 

The former K-pop idol retired from the entertainment industry in 2020 after former AOA member Kwon Mina brought up a myriad of physical violence allegations against her. As of writing this article, Jimin has not released a personal statement regarding her departure from FNC Entertainment.

Notably, Jimin's former agency, FNC Entertainment, released their statements about the former AOA member's contract status via posting an update on their official social media pages.

FNC Entertainment's announcement is as follows:

"Hello, this is FNC Entertainment.

We would like to inform you that our exclusive contract with Jimin has ended on January 12, 2022.

We would like to express our gratitude to Jimin, who has been active with us as an artist for the past nine years. Although her relationship with us has ended, please give her your warm encouragement and support for her future endeavors."

Fans are also wishing Jimin luck in her future endeavors now that she is no longer a part of both AOA and FNC Entertainment. But it seems as though Jimin has not fully retired from the K-pop industry.

Just recently, after taking a long hiatus from social media, Jimin surprised her fans by celebrating her birthday by giving a special gift to her fans which was a brand-new song entitled "Suddenly." The K-pop idol shared this via her very first Instagram post since leaving AOA.

The K-pop idol's Fans swarmed the comments section of Jimin's Instagram with encouragement and positive messages.
