BTS Jungkook's GOLDEN Album Hits 6.2 Billion Spotify Streams, Breaking Asian Artist Record

BTS member Jungkook has set another streaming milestone with his debut solo album GOLDEN, which recently surpassed 6.2 billion streams on Spotify. The achievement makes him the first Asian solo artist to reach this mark, cementing his position as a global music force even after completing his military service in June 2025.
First Asian Solo Album to Break 6 Billion Barrier
Released in November 2023, GOLDEN became the fastest album by any Asian artist to hit 6.2 billion streams on Spotify. The 11-track album maintains an impressive average of 4.5-5 million daily streams, demonstrating sustained popularity nearly two years after release.
The album's success is driven by multiple hit singles that individually crossed the billion-stream threshold. "Seven" featuring Latto leads with over 2.3 billion streams, followed by "Standing Next to You" with more than 1.1 billion, and "3D" featuring Jack Harlow, making GOLDEN the first Asian solo album with three tracks exceeding one billion streams each.
100 Consecutive Weeks on Spotify's Global Chart
GOLDEN made history by spending 100 consecutive weeks on Spotify's Weekly Top Albums Global chart, becoming the first and only album by a K-pop soloist to achieve this milestone. This record-breaking chart longevity surpasses any previous Asian solo artist, proving the album's staying power in the competitive global music market.
Jungkook now holds 19 tracks with over 100 million streams on Spotify-more than any other K-pop soloist. His total streams across all credited tracks exceed 9.7 billion, making him the first K-pop solo artist and fastest Asian act to reach this figure.
Worldwide Chart Domination
Beyond Spotify, GOLDEN broke records across major music platforms. The album spent 25 weeks on the Billboard 200, making Jungkook the first Asian solo artist to chart for this long. In the UK, it remained on the Official Top 100 Albums for eight weeks-the longest run for any K-pop soloist.
The album topped iTunes charts in 106 countries upon release and continues to chart on Apple Music's Worldwide Album Chart after more than 620 days. In South Korea, GOLDEN has sold over 2.96 million physical copies according to Circle Chart, making it one of the best-selling K-pop solo albums in history.
Continuing Impact After Military Service
Jungkook's achievements are particularly notable given that he enlisted for mandatory military service in December 2023, just weeks after releasing GOLDEN. He completed his 18-month service on June 11, 2025, alongside fellow BTS member Jimin.
Despite releasing no new music during his service, Jungkook's existing catalog continued breaking records. "Seven" recently became the first song by a K-pop solo artist to surpass 2.5 billion Spotify streams, achieving the milestone in August 2025.
With all seven BTS members now having completed their military obligations, the group is preparing for their reunion. Jungkook's solo success during the hiatus has demonstrated the unprecedented global reach K-pop solo artists can achieve, setting new benchmarks for the genre's future.
