On the 2nd of December, a media outlet reported a couple of the comments made by Japanese fans on the performance of ITZY on the two Japanese programs, and it seems as though they were not feeling ITZY's performances.
As per the reports, ITZY's performance on the Japanese TV programs was not rated well locally. Comments criticizing ITZY regarding their underwhelming performances were rampant.
A couple of netizens even commented that ITZY rarely sings live, using a pre-recorded soundtrack during their performance, thus they expected that the choreography would be top-notch, at least.
Criticism of ITZY's performances on TV Asahi's "Music Station" and Nippon TV's "Sukkiri" was a big deal as the JYP Entertainment K-pop girl group is known for their ability to dance and perform, and seeing them underperform on the shows were very disappointing for fans.
A Japanese netizen even went on to comment that most K-pop idols have impressive performances, but ITZY's performance just 'felt weak.' Although this is a bad start on their Japanese debut, ITZY is still far from being unable to salvage their reputation in Japan.
