A New Beginning: Former IZ*ONE Member Miyawaki Sakura Officially Leaves Japanese Management Agency!
Popular pop idol Miyawaki Sakura made her first debut in Japan as a member of HKT48 in 2011.
Following this, after she ranked 2nd on Mnet's "Produce 48" in 2018, she once again debuted as a member of a project group called IZ*ONE and promoted with the girl group until their disbandment earlier this year.
After this, Miyawaki Sakura 'graduated' from her longtime group HKT48 in June.
Furthermore in March, it was rumored that Miyawaki Sakura would be joining a new girl group at HYBE following the disbandment of IZ*ONE.
Big Hit (aka HYBE) addressed the rumors by expressing that nothing has been decided regarding the matter but fans were already believing that Sakura would be gearing up to once again debut under HYBE.
Not long after in August, it was reported that Miyawaki Sakura will be joining Source Music, which is part of HYBE Labels. But an insider from HYBE released a comment that they could not confirm the reports.
But it seems as though that Sakura might indeed be joining HYBE as fans and netizens wish Miyawaki Sakura luck on her new endeavors as her contract with her Japanese management agency has officially ended.
On the 1st of November, her now-former agency, Vernalossom, confirmed through their official website that Sakura has now parted ways with the agency.
Vernalossom's announcement is as follows:
"We thank everyone who has always supported Miyawaki Sakura. We inform you that the management contract between Miyawaki Sakura and Vernalossom Co., Ltd. has expired. The staff members of the company would like to sincerely thank the fans who are cheering for her. Please continue to give your unchanging attention to Miyawaki Sakura."
Although this does not confirm that Sakura will join HYBE, this leads to further connections as she is now no longer bound to other labels.
