Netizens Worry As Heo Young Ji, Former Kara Member, Announced To Be Positive For COVID-19
Debuting under DSP Media 14 years ago in 2007, Kara consisted of 4 members. The members of Kara consisted of Gyuri, Seungyeon, Hara, and Youngji. The K-pop girl group disbanded five years ago on the 14th of January, 2016.
But former members of Kara are still active in the entertainment industry. In a recent update, it was reported that former Kara member, Youngji (known by her full name, Heo Young Ji), has been diagnosed with COVID-19 and netizens are worried.
As of writing this article on the 6th of September, as per Heo Young Ji's label, DSP Media, it has been announced that the former Kara member is positive with COVID-19 and is currently resting.
DSP Media's announcement is as follows:
"Hello, this is DSP Media.
Our artist Heo Young Ji recently experienced health problems, so she used a [COVID-19] self-testing kit and tested positive [for the virus]. She immediately underwent PCR testing and was confirmed to have COVID-19.
Currently, Heo Young Ji is following the instructions of health authorities.
Our agency will adhere to health authorities' guidelines and prioritize the health and safety of our artists and staff. We apologize for causing concern."
Fans and netizens have wished Heo Young Ji to have a quick and regular recovery!
Previously in an interview, Han Seungyeon, another former Kara member, shared how much she has recovered physically, emotionally, and mentally after leaving the K-pop industry.
"When I was part of KARA, I only lived for my performances. I practiced our performances again and again, without eating and sleeping enough. I got an IV when I needed energy," Han Seungyeon shared.
As per the former Kara member, due to the outfits for their performances, she had gained a very bad temperament. Seungyeon said that she could not eat what she wanted to eat. She also constantly worried about the way she looked on television.
