Sandara Park Started Her Own Label. The Album Drops in Three Days.
On June 8, Sandara Park announced the launch of ARADNAS - her own independent label, its name her own name spelled backward - and confirmed that her new single album rePRISM would follow on June 20. For a 40-year-old artist whose career began in the Philippines in 2004 and ran through 2NE1's peak years at YG Entertainment, the move is less a retirement project than a structural reset: full control over music direction, stage presentation, and career timeline, starting now.
rePRISM is built on a live band sound. ARADNAS describes the single as featuring Park's high notes and delicate falsetto over arrangements with "both vitality and weight" - a deliberate pivot from the EDM-forward production that defined 2NE1 and from the softer pop of her 2023 solo EP "Sandara Park." A 30-second spoiler clip released alongside the label announcement offered the first audio preview. An Asia fan concert tour of the same name follows, with five confirmed cities: Seoul (July 4 at YES24 Live Hall), Macao, Tokyo, Bangkok, and Hong Kong. Venue details and dates for the four non-Seoul stops are still to be announced.
The timing sits in the wake of 2NE1's Welcome Back Tour (2024-2025), which marked the group's 15th anniversary with large-scale shows across Asia and ran with YG's cooperation. That reunion tour reminded a generation of fans of 2NE1's reach. ARADNAS is Park's answer to what comes after: not a group project managed by a major label, but a solo operation she controls. "Sandara Park directly shapes her own musical and stage direction," ARADNAS stated at launch.
The solo arithmetic is not routine. K-pop's commercial infrastructure - streaming algorithms, music show promotions, fandom mobilization systems - is calibrated for groups and for artists with major label distribution. Independent labels work against that structure from day one. Park's fanbase, built across South Korea, the Philippines, and Southeast Asia, is substantial and loyal. Whether that loyalty converts to streaming numbers and tour revenue without a major label's promotional apparatus is the live question rePRISM will start to answer on June 20.
The full rePRISM Asia tour schedule, including venue and ticket details for all cities beyond Seoul, is expected in the coming weeks. Seoul tickets are available through YES24.
