Taika Waititi Hypes Up ‘Thor: Love & Thunder’ In Recent Interview With WIRED
In a recent interview, Taika Waititi revealed his excitement for Thor 4's new filming technology. Ahead of being acclaimed for his work in "Thor: Ragnarok," Taika Waititi was swiftly taken for Thor's upcoming fourth movie installment, "Thor: Love & Thunder."
The plot of the upcoming Thor film is still on the down-low but the movie is expected to start where "Avengers: Endgame" ended. This is where Thor accompanies the Guardians of the Galaxy in their next adventure.
To the excitement of fans, the main villains are slated to be Gorr the God Butcher who is played by Christian Bale, and Zeus who will be played by Russell Crowe. Notably, the movie finished production months prior already.
In a recent interview with Wired where he talked about his recent film "Free Guy," Taika Waititi decidedly revealed his excitement for the latest technology they used during the production of the "Thor: Love & Thunder."
"When you break down that footage into increments of 24 frames per second, you have every single kind of lighting, all individually captured. So later you can choose your lighting in post-production," Taika Waititi proudly revealed.
The new technology is dubbed PlateLight and it makes use of a combination of high-speed lighting and slow-motion footage to get a plethora of lighting setups within only a single shot. The technology was developed by the creative studio Satellite Lab.
Moreover, PlateLight is not the only new filming technology that was made use of on "Thor: Love and Thunder."
Taika Waititi went on to film in one of Industrial Light and Magic's StageCraft LED sets. Waititi made use of a virtual production technique which was previously made famous by Jon Favreau on "The Mandalorian."
