JYP Entertainment Gearing Up To Debut New Boy Group Through ‘Nizi Project 2’
Following the immense success of the "Nizi Project" with NiziU, JYP Entertainment and its founder and former CEO J.Y. Park (Park Jinyoung) have revealed another season for Nizi Project entitled "Nizi Project 2," but this time for a boy group.
In a previous press conference on the 12th of July, J.Y. Park of JYP Entertainment and Muramatsu Shunsuke, CEO of Sony Music Japan, shared that the two would once again be working together, but this time for the debut of a boy group, globally.
Notably, "Nizi Project 2" will begin auditions in 11 cities all around Japan, Korea, and the United States. Auditions will occur in Sapporo, Sendai, Nagoya, Kobe, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Okinawa, and Tokyo, in Japan.
For Korea and the US, auditions will be held in the cities Seoul, Los Angeles, and New York City. Similar to "Nizi Project 1," J.Y. Park will personally visit each audition.
Beginning today, on the 13th of July, applications from hopeful boys will start, and auditions will begin from November up until December. Moreover, the final lineup for the upcoming global boy group will be announced in December of the next year 2022. The boys will then debut in February of 2023.
Auditions will be for boys aged 14 to 22 years old. Moreover, boys who do not belong to a certain agency and are able to speak Japanese are welcome, race and nationality are not a factor.
"I remember when I first announced the Nizi Project two years ago, and I was worried at the time. I am so happy to be able to announce a second season. I was surprised by the support we received, and I still can't believe it. I haven't been able to go to Japan since the broadcast of Nizi Project, so I can't fully believe it. I heard they became very famous in Japan, and I'm curious to see for myself," J.Y. Park noted, speaking about the first season of "Nizi Project."
