Brave Girls Reaches Milestone: The Only K-pop Girl Group That Topped MelOn’s Monthly Chart Thrice
All eyes are on Brave Girls as they are noted to have an upcoming comeback this June. The comeback will be produced by the same people who produced their hit song, "Rollin'", which are Brave Brothers.
As of writing this article, 2 days ago on the 1st of June, MelOn dropped their monthly chart for the month of May. Brave Entertainment's Brave Girls, the K-pop girl group who garnered a huge following with the resurgence of their 2017 hit "Rollin'," once again was dubbed the first place.
Due to this, Brave Girls has another breakthrough as the girls set a new record for having the most No. 1 on the MelOn monthly chart among female K-pop groups.
Before they ranked #1 on MelOn's monthly chart for this month, Brave Girls previously reached the #1 spot in March and in April with "Rollin'" as well. This means tha Brave Girls' Minyoung, Eunji, Yujeong, and Yuna have topped MelOn's chart for three consecutive months.
Brave Girls has been the only K-pop girl group to reach the #1 spot on MelOn's monthly chart three times yet alone for three straight months. As of writing this article, Brave Girls has recorded the most #1s on MelOn's monthly chart.
In addition, now that Brave Girls has the most #1 on MelOn's monthly chart in terms of female K-pop groups, they have further cemented their titles as legends and icons in the K-pop industry.
In past times, other K-pop songs that have went on to rank #1 for two consecutive months on MelOn's monthly chart are Wonder Girls' 2007 and 2008 hit songs, "Tell Me" and "So Hot," respectively. SNSD's, also known as Girls' Generation, also did this with their 2009 hit, "Gee."
